    Hi

I have a 3925 in bridge mode. I have an asus router ac87u where I have enabled IPV6, however i still get normal IP4 address. I rebooted both modem and router no joy.

It seems I can not login in the 3925 in case I need to change something in there.( do I?)
I get the public IP address as gateway if I connect the 3925 to the PC, i also tried a software which ping all ip address subnet mask from 192.168.0.X to 192.168,1.X doesn't find the 3925, not sure if this is normal.

    Any ideas? Thanks

If you are a res customer - they will get to you eventually with Ds-lite. I don't think they are giving out actual IPv6 address as of yet. Be happy you have you Ipv4 address!

The 3925 is on IP 192.168.100.1 after it has bee put into bridge mode.

They're moving to a DS-Lite or "Double Nat" or "Carrier Grade NAT" where they will assign each house in say a cluster of 50 an IPV6 address and then share one IPV4 address between all of them. Theyve been trailing it in a few areas.

Why do you want it anyways?

I am meant to be doing some beta testing of a new router, and IPv6 is a feature to test.... no luck I guess so....

I hope this Double Nat will not affect bride mode :):)

So at the moment I have an asus router with VPN client/server, port forward, private cloud, etc....
are you saying all the features will stop working? If so a disaster :) and any workaround?

ATM if they turn it on for you, you go and b1tch to their support until the turn it back off. In future, who knows.

UPC kit for cgnat/ds-lite will also support pcp (port-control-protocol) for dynamically mapping inside app ports to public ports.
