Anyone use the pat coleby mineral mix for their cattle?
    1 kg copper sulphate
    1kg sublimed sulphur
    1 kg seaweed meal
    4kg dolomite lime
Mixed up and sprinkled on the silage about a tea spoon per cow per day is her recommended dosage for tick and worm control along with a host of other benefits

Not sure if the sulfur would be needed here, copper definitely is, ya could add in zinc too if ya have hoof troubles
Minerals help prevent trouble, the only way they help prevent ticks and worms is by keeping the immune system right imo.

I have read many times where sulfur deters lice and ticks? Surely it would be some deterrent! Why do you say no need for sulphur here?

Talk to your neighbouring farmers to see if lice and ticks are an issue in the area
Sulphur can adversely affect the absorption of some more important trace elements
Take a look at any mineral for sale I don't think there are available with sulphur( other than sulphites of copper etc)

I actually put in 8 to 10 kg dolomite as i'm nervous of copper toxicity
But not been giving long enough yet to see results! I'm hoping to eradicate Deworming with this new recipe tbh as I think cattle are becoming resistant

i'm not claiming copper kills worms but they are not that attractive a host when they are in correct copper levels

copper toxicity is rarely a problem in cattle, can cause death though if it does reach consistent toxic levels
the merck manual says they need between 10–18mg/kg

Pat Coleby says in her book that the calcium and magnesium in the dolomite will negate cooper toxitity
