Small Venue Ideas?

    Hi,

I am sorry if this has already been posted before but my bride to be is stressing out and I really want to step up and help her. Lets face it, if she gets stressed, I am going to get stressed :)

We are looking to get married in 2016 but we have opted for a small intimate wedding of between 35-40.

I am looking for some help with the venue. We don't mind where it is in the country so all venues are an option.

Has anyone recently got married in a small venue? can you share your experiences, pros and cons?

We have also not ruled out abroad but I am conscious of putting people under financial pressure for flights etc.

    Thanks!

We got married in August at Kippure in Wicklow it was gorgeous! We were even smaller with just 18 but they were more than happy to accomodate us we were finding it pretty hard to find a venue to take such a small wedding! Really nice location close enough to Dublin if people are flying in but out the way enough that there isn't anyone else around!

We got married in Fallon's in Kilcullan, in Kildare could not recommend them highly enough great place. We had 30 people but it could take probably take around 20-30 more if required. You could also have the ceremony there if you wanted. Great food great hosts great place

Op I know you said that location doesn't matter but perhaps give a general area you live in as a guide las if you live in Galway you don't really want to be married in cork.

Well she is from Kerry but we live in the North East so really we have options of:

    Kerry,
    Cork,
    Kildare,
    Cavan,
    Monaghan,
    Dublin,
    Wicklow

    etc.

Maybe look at restaurants too? I saw a gorgeous looking wedding recently at Cliff Town House on Stephens green in Dublin, looked to have about 30 or so guests. Best of luck!

I second the Mustard Seed, it's amazing and Dan us so lovely who runs it.

There's Jack's Coastguard in Kerry too which has amazing views and gorgeous food.

Roundwood house in Laois hosts weddings up to 50 people so could be ideal.

Do you want everyone to be able to stay in the same place? And do yuo want it to be poshish, or homly and friendly. I just got married in Ballintaggart House in Dingle, 35 of us, we were treated like family and so well taken care of, theres also Ballincurra house, beautiful, but pricier, cloughjordan house in north tipp. There are so many places. Have a look at one fab days website for small venue ideas, and their top 100
