UPC/IPTV Question

    Hi All,

On Tuesday I received a 2 day trial to use an IPTV service for testing. I got home that evening switched on my laptop to test it out only to get server time-out errors and could not access any channels. So I got onto the support team and the guys there said there was no issue their end all was working fine, but the guy did mention that it could be my ISP blocking it. So I then downloaded a free VPN service and after started the VPN I then could view the channels fine.
So my question is is it UPC that blocks these services or is it a setting on the router?

Any help will be much appreciated thank you.

Might be a port being blocked, how does it work?
do you just go to a website or is it an application?

So was chatting to support again today he told what they do:

"we provide TV over the internet via various platforms - website player, XBMC player (android tv boxes/linux boxes) and MAG250/254 iptv settopbox"

and for this to work TCP port 1935 needs to be open.

Can I open this manually on the UPC router myself or do I need to contact UPC to do it?

Not familiar with your modem, but you should be able to do it manually.
