Its been over 3 mths for us now. Have emailed twice and get promises that I will have them shortly but nothing materialises. It's starting to get very frustrating.
Just wondering how long everyone else had to wait.

Ours took 3-4 weeks. It would be better if they just gave you a date, even if its a bit down the line but you were guaranteed to get them. I think we were told it would be 6 weeks. Under promise then over achieve is the best strategy.

Had the sneak peak the next day, link to website after about 3 weeks, slideshow after a month, disks about 8 weeks and album about 9 weeks.

I'd be piling on the pressure - write on their facebook page, make it public!

4 weeks for some, then 8 weeks for the total disc.
It was stated in our contract.
Did you have a contract with this detail in it?

What are the terms of the contract? If you dont have a contract then you have no choice but to wait I'm afraid.
    Have you tried ringing?
3 months to be fair is taking the mickey a little but some photographers dont do any editing in the summer as they are too busy and only start in the autumn so maybe they are doing it this way so they have a strict schedule? I'm sure they would have told you this prior to booking though?

Are you talking about a specific supplier?
I know our guy had the digital files ready within 2/3 weeks.

Have you got anything back yet? Even pictures in a blog/facebook?

We had a few about a month after the wedding, then about two months later we had the full selection. I wouldn't let this go as from reading here photographers seem to take their time if you let them.

We got married early June, had photos to veto by August and album in hand by oct. in fairness our guy did 5 weddings a week in the summer so I knew I'd have to be patient

3 weeks after the wedding we got a low res set through dropbox to have a look at. Following week we met up with him and got the full res copies on USB key. He was doing ~3-4 weddings a week during the summer so was busy but part of contract was that they would be provided within 4 weeks of the wedding.

I would definitely be putting more pressure on him at this stage if it was me. As a matter of interest did you pay up front or on collection?

We got the photos on his website, not the full selection but a few taster shots, in a private gallery about 3 weeks after the wedding. Then we got our full disc about 10 weeks after the wedding. It was about 350 or so photos, and we got two discs, one disc of the high res images for ordering prints, then also a disc of lower res versions that we could attach to an email, or put on facebook etc.

    Hi thanks for the replies.
We have had absolutely nothing. There has only been contact because ive emailed - i live abroad so with time difference that is usually the best option. I kind of feel this is part of the reason why the photographer has been so slow for us. He knows we won't be knocking at his door.

He said it would be a 'few weeks' for him to do the photos, so to me that was 4/5 weeks, but I did not get that in writing unfortunately. And Ive paid most of the money already:( He came highly recommended and is also a friend of a friend so I though I could trust him. He was also lovely on the day itself.

The last email I sent I was told I would have them on a specific date but did not receive anything. Not even an email to say why he didnt have them ready which is the most frustrating thing...if there is a delay or problem, just tell me. But we are just left guessing.

Im going to send another email. Maybe I have been too nice up to now...I'm not the best at being assertive.

He's not the guy from Tipp mentioned in the other thread is he? Pat McCoole I think his name was.

Email the friend and ask them to contact him. Embarrass him into getting it done.

We got ours about 5-6 weeks later.
After 3 months it's becoming unacceptable. Even if your contract doesn't say by when he should have photos delivered to you, it still has to be within a reasonable time-frame, otherwise they could just never give them to you on the premise that there was no time specified and you're still waiting...
Give him a time-frame, say you want them within the next month or that you're not willing to wait more than 6 months after your wedding. If you went to the small claims court, I doubt they'd even think 6 months was reasonable (maybe reasonable from your perspective to wait, not from his to drag his heels).

Took us over 3 months. I was annoyed because friends that got married a month and 2 months after us had their photos before us! And on his website he initially said 4 weeks waiting time. But I know he started to get really popular around then and didn't have as much time. Still though, turn down a wedding or two if you don't have the time to look after everyone. I really think 2 months maximum is fair.

I think it depends on the time of year too. A summer wedding seems to take longer as the photographer could be doing a lot of shoots every week. But post production should be outsourced if there's a very long delay.

Is the photographer pat Mccoole ash?

    Any Joy Ash?

I am new to the wedding photography industry but I do state in my contract that images will be provided no later than 8 weeks after the wedding with my aim being 4-6 weeks. Depending on the time of year. January/February would be quiet and could have them done in 2 weeks, June/July/August are silly season and would be closer to the 6-8 weeks.

Hope you managed to get somewhere!
