    2009 Audi a6 2.0tdi
    A brief synopsis of what's happened;

    -engine light came on, resulting in reduced power and mpg
    -Audi mechanic(nixer) on his computer discovers that the exhaust pressure sensor was gone
    -replaced sensor and regenerated dpf as result.
    -power restored but mpg down by 10 mpg at least compared to before sensor went faulty no matter how I drive it.

    Phoned mechanic re issue and he is at a loss as to why it's happened?
    Haven't changed where I buy fuel, just got new filters and oil change to see if it made difference, no faults on computer?

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Willie

    If the dpf is blocking/blocked then it will run the regeneration process nearly all the time to keep the dpf clean and keep the differential pressure down.

    The regeneration process will use extra fuel when keeping the filter clean...This is the only thing i can think of...

    Depending on what diagnostic software your mechanic has but get him to check the (1)differential pressure at different rpms when driving (2) filter load/soot content in %,
    Also there maybe an option to view how often the dpf is regenerating.
