ESB connections

    Can someone shed some light on the cost of ESB connection charge. I thought the price was around 1800 but there asking for almost double that, sparky was sating it was crazy high..

    Hi Shooter Galway,

    I just recently have paid for our ESB connection on our build and it did cost 1,851euro. If your connection is a standard 12kVa it should be approximately 1,800euro. If your looking for a 16kVa connection due to using heat pump for running house heating etc, then the cost I think is about 2,600euro........

    Now as far as I know these two costs above only apply if you are within I think either 200m or 500m of the nearest medium voltage lines. If your further than this 200m or 500m(can't remember which) then the price is pretty much double.

    It should be on the ESB Website in the new single house dwelling connection section.
