Nearly bought one of these last week at £89. Pleased to see this reduction earlier on Twitter from HDUK http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/philips-hd9220-airfryer-69-00-john-lewis-2070863?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=txt&utm_campaign=Hourly%2BHot Good comments from those who already have one and great reviews on Amazon.
John Lewis also doing it at the same price with 2 year guarantee but sadly wont send to Ireland.

We got this from Argos when they had it on special a while back. Other than being a little difficult to clean properly, these things are very much worthwhile.

Very good deal. I paid £99 for mine last year. Use it nearly every day. Very handy. I hardly ever use my oven now :)

Got mine from tesco direct the other day using the £10 first time customer so £59

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Great price. I have this too, bought it a year or two ago in Argos when it was on special. Have been using it several times a week since. Great for many things, use it mostly for chicken wings / home made chips / roasted vegetables

Maybe this has been said before, but there's my advice. BUY IT.

I got the more expensive 'digital' version in exchange for a Samsung tablet I won last Christmas and thought afterwards 'what have you done?'. €160 for a cooking appliance that'll be a white elephant in the kitchen.
Now, almost one year later, I can safely say that after the kettle/coffee machine and microwave, it is the next most used appliance in my kitchen. It might not be great for families, but for couples and singletons it's fantastic. It's essentially a six inch by six inch oven. So if you buy a 6" square Pyrex dish and a 6"cake tin, there's practically nothing you can't cook or bake. Those rectangular foil trays of ready meals/meat/veg can be squashed into a 6" square dish-but careful pulling it out! Heat up takes 3 min, cooking time is shortened as everything cooks and browns faster so maybe turn down the temp. And it turns itself off when time is up.
The non digital version has a dial knob instead of a digital screen as the only difference I can see. For that money you won't regret it.

Gone up to £89 now. Which is better, this one or the Breville halo fryer in Argos(posted above)?

I've been thinking of one of these for ages. I have a halogen oven. Does anyone know if there's much of a difference in these appliances? Is it worth while having both?

They're back at £69 on Amazon

My previous post was in relation to the Philips airfryer. I don't have a halogen oven nor Breville one to compare it to. Like I said, the airfryer is a very small square oven. If you want a very small round oven, maybe go for the other two :) They probably are the same thing more or less anyway

i've been thinking about this for a while (or the tefal family size currently £139 at Amazon) - but are they an option for 6 or more people?

how much can actually be cooked in them if they're just "small ovens" - if it can only cook 2-3 portions at a time then I'll always be the last to eat....

Honestly, I think it's too small for your family of 6. Get out a square lunchbox that's 6 inches by 6 inches. Then give yourself about 3-inches headspace. Actually 3 inches is enough as "too high" and it'll rub off the upper grill and get scorched. It's not a lot, is it? Plenty for my needs but not when you've a team to feed.

I too got the philips airfryer and i use it at least 5 times a week. i am even thinking of buying this just as a backup as the one i have currently is nearly trwo years old.
can anybody who uses one of these tell me what is their best way to clean the mesh as i find this the most annoying part of cleaning this product.
i currently place silver foil on the very bottom of the device (Not the mesh) so any grease or fat drops on to this, and saves me the hastle of cleaning the very bottom of this device.

I have one. bought it last year on amazon for £89/108eur . Great purchase. We are two adults and I cant imagine it feeding more than that. Chips (from potatoes/sweet potatoes) done in about 20mins with no more than a tablespoon of oil....Frozen chips etc are perfect too. Everything goes crispy........obviously its no 'chipper chips', but id highly recommend it .

Boiling water from the kettle should clean it. Scrape off the crispy bits first! I put silver paper on the bottom too!

You can just put it both parts in the dishwasher and it cleans it perfect
