Peugeot 206 Cabriolet electrics to lights

Front left light was gone. Brought car to halfords, attendant replaced light but noted that the electrics had been set in a way as to output minimum voltage to lights.... Lights are dim when car starts, only when I turn headlights on and then off again do the lights receive enough power.

Does this sound like a big job to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bad earth or bad connection somewhere.
Not sure what the Halfraud's guy was on about with " electrics had been set in a way as to output minimum voltage to lights."......

If its not a bad earth it could be a faulty switch or relay.

If you have the owners manual you should check if the car has "dim dip" headlights. These were an early version of DRLs where a reduced voltage was sent to dipped beams - more likely to be found on a Volvo.
