    Hi,
I am looking to see if anyone has any 'real world' experience of using both Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Note 4.
My Son is on a bill pay with Three and is not sure as to which one (that I will get) to get.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I have used both and definitely Note 4, Better display, more internal storage, better battery, better camera, Spen , much faster ( even touchwiz is breeze to use).

I understand you get IP 67 rating with S5 but believe me , you will get tired of opening usb flap everytime to charge phone, i had spare battery/charger but quick google search will find you many thread with broken usb charge flap.

Only thing is N4 size but you do get used to it easily. I am sold for Note series for life think.

Thanks for the quick response deep1, that is more or less what I was thinking as well.
Also in Ireland I believe that they are only selling the 16GB S5 but that there is a 32GB one somewhere.
And that the Note 4 is 32GB

The other thing i would like to add is Fast charging, 0 to 50% in 30 mins, it really works great if you need to charge in hurry.

Any other high end phone is better than an S5. It's a very disappointing piece of kit.

Not overly impressed with s5 myself coming from an S3. What do you find poor with it?

Was my belief also that it was only available as a 32gb model so I went to another "3" store yesterday and inquired again, the rep said 16gb so I asked her to check, she came out blushing admitting it was indeed 32gb

Sim locked to Three though, wonder how much it costs to unlock :p

The main thing for me was the lag - be it typing or app switching it went from being slightly noticable to waiting for it to catch up. I turned off any of the in-built nonsense, tried flashing different versions of the firmware before settling on CM11. It seems touchwiz is most definitely to blame for it. It absolutely flew with CM11 on it but the camera was pretty poor.

Another bugbear was the battery life - the M8 and Z3 both outlasted it in my experience. Again CM11 improved this.

Build is nothing special, so too the screen, the settings menu layout is terrible and I found the sound quality average.

Ya the lag was a joke out of the box. I just switched off alot of crap that was enabled and is fine now.
That water proof flap is driving me nuts. Why could they not leave some method of opening it.
