    Howdee,

I wouldn't be familiar, in the last five years of where one could go to get some moles nicked off.

For example, a walk in appointment, places such as Adare Cosmetics Clinic.

Any others you could recommend? I've had it done before, just got a few nicked off.

Don't you have to be referred by your GP first?

My father used to deal with a guy called Dr Drumm in Steamboat Quay. My sister went to Dr Paul O Byrne in Barringtons. Both referred by their GP.

Paul O Byrne is fantastic. Didn't go to him for mole removal but for other issues. After suffering with something for a long time, he was the first person who actually bothered enough to get to the bottom of it and sorted it out for me. I would highly recommend him.

The last time I got it done, I didn't go to a GP at all.

Why are you looking to have the mole removed? Is it changing shape, bleeding etc?You should get your GPto refer you to a consultant dermatologist. If you can afford to go private ,all the better,as the waiting times for public patients can be as long as two years! I have first hand experience of Dr.Cal Condon at the Blackrock Clinic in Dublin.Top class.Locally, Dr. Bart Ramsay has a good reputation.

Yep, Bart Ramsay has a good reputation, but I can't afford to shell out the money right now. I suppose the existing ones I wanted to get looked at are "hardening up". Could just be the aging process....

The Auralia Clinic on Steamboat Quay is another place that springs to mind. It's important that you see somebody with the proper medical qualifications in the area of Dermatology(a specialist nurse at least) rather than some glorified beautician!

Absolutely. I went to Adare Cosmetics a few years back and they sent it away for testing.

I suppose, does that mean people will refuse to remove them for vanity purposes only? (unless referred)

Why not go back to Adare and ask her to zap them off? She should be able to freeze/laser them off there for you.

Bart Ramsay took one of mine out. Very clear explanation of the process, biology of a mole etc. It's a quick enough job depending on where they are.
