I was driving home this evening and had to change down gears from 4th to 3rd but I couldn't get the gear stick to slip in . I was stuck in neutral rolling down a hill and managed to pop it into first gear - I carried on in 1st for about 200/300 metres or so and pulled in . At this point I placed it in neutral and from that point on I couldn't slip it into any gear. When I turned off the ignition I could change gears freely with my foot on the clutch but when the engine is running it wont change? Anybody know what I'm dealing with here?
