I put in a pedrollo twin impeller 1.5hp shallow well pump in three years ago to do similar job to yours, it replaced an old waterpack pump. I'm very pleased with it and it puts up the pressure very quick. Any of the submersible pumps will do the job either I'm told they can put up serious pressure, but I had the pump house and all so went with the over ground pump. I'd put in a fairly heavy cable to be sure

Thats a good distance for a cable run(330m). The lift height isnt bad though. I've a pump here about 150 m from the yard but pump is nearly 350ft (110m) down the well. The pumphouse is on top of the well with pressure tank and control box. The cable from the yard is a 3cored x10mmsq SWA (armoured). The cable down the well is a 4core x6mmsq flexible rubber type cable.
Certain makes of submersible pump only need a 3 core cable but are expensive first day. The current needed to run the pump isn't a major issue but the voltage drop at the pump is. If the voltage at the motor is low the motor will get very hot and its life will be shortened. Where you site the pressure tank and what type of pump you're using (submersible or shallow well) will have a bearing on the no. of cores needed in the cable.
How is your ESB supply? Getting a voltage reading with a multimeter might be no harm.
Voltage here is around 237v as I'm on my own transformer. I think it was around 230v at the pump house. Probably 220 down at the pump. I've a table of voltage drop values for different cable sizes but will have to go searching for it. Fitted pump here myself back in 2004. Around 2.5k before I had water running. Nearly 7k to sink well.
    Water charges how are ya?!!
