After a little spill at the weekend, I'm thinking about getting a set of winter wheels and tyres.

Looking at mavic yksion pro gtip link or the Schwalbe ultermo Aqua tyre.

What are you guys using, do they make a difference? Sny recomodations ?

For wheels I'm looking at shamino r501 as thete cheap and cheerful or else the mavic Aksium S road ( twice the price)

For a cassette if I got a different size do I need to change my chain ? Should I just get the same casette as on my existing wheels?

So in summary, what type wherks and tyres do people recommend for wet/frozen road ?

Cyclesuperstore will have Mavic Aksiums next week for €150 as part of their advent sale if that makes a difference to your choice

Cheers, any recomodations on tyres. I see another poster has the same issue.

Those wheels linked...would they be much better than what came on my trek 1.2 back in 09??
As in would I notice better handling/speed/performance?
    Thanks,
    Marty
