Galway barbers with beard knowledge?

This is asked a lot on facebook and never really gets any replies. Quite a few people are growing 'yeards'.. as in grow a beard over the course of a year. Many people go to barbers in town to get it trimmed or shaped and some of the barbers end up botching it and you nearly have to start from scratch!

So its a common question, but never gets answers. Asked before and a mod moved it to barbers but that section is mainly for dubliners.

So before you move this, let me get an answer or 2 please ! :p Anyone that has particular experience or that you recommend for shaping beards in G-city? Please no negative comments about any barber or business - thanks!

I've yet to find a barber that can do as good a job as I can myself.

Not blowing my own trumpet, just I take my time, have the right trimmers etc and am always happy with how it turns out.

I would be interested in the same service. I found one place in Salthill last year where there was a Brazilian barber that did a good job but I was in there recently and he no longer works there.

I am sure there would be demand for a shop that offered a good service in this regard.

Not that I have actually done it myself with either of these but the barbers (I forget the name) at the end of Shop Street/start of High Street do it, they mentioned it to me when I was getting a haircut but I declined.

Also the Cut Above, Abbeygate Street near the 02 shop, barbers have mentioned the same to me, and they are excellent barbers. All the staff seem very experienced there.

Hasn't the whole beard fad died out yet? It's beyond tragic at this stage.

Repairing holes in cheap runners is even more tragic.

Fair play for taking the time to research my posts but you could find something better than me getting a brand new pair of expensive runners mended.

Didn't mean to ruffle your neckbeard :pac:
