The policeman who killed Mike Brown has announced his resignation from the police force.
His reason was to protect other members of the police force.

Why would he not return to his job and how would him doing said job be a threat to the lives of other policemen and policewomen?

Because there's a mob out there vying for their own version of justice.

How could he possibly continue to do his job? The guy and his family are in hiding for god's sake! There are thousands of people who would like nothing better than to lynch him.

The guy will be lucky if he can ever live a normal life in the USA ever again and you are wondering why he wouldn't continue to do his job?
