I was looking to buy a Motorola Moto G 5-Inch (2nd Gen UK Stock) Dual Sim 8GB SIM-Free Smartphone XT1068. Will a Sim free phone from Amazon work if I put my Irish Vodafone Sim card into it.

Yep, SIM free will always take any SIM, unlocked means it may have been locked to one network at first, but that lock has been removed.

I am about to buy this phone from Amazon UK. I want to plug it in, charge it and then put in my existing Vodafone Sim card and it works. Looking at other threads about phones I see a lot of techno jargon about setup, rooting etc. I am wondering do I need to do this
