Honda Civic rear visibility..how bad is it really in every day motoring due to that rear spoiler?

Would it put you off buying?

Nah, the mirrors are plenty big and you get used to it.
The lack of rear wiper on the 2005> model is more of a pain tbh but again you get used to it quickly.

I've got rear parking sensors on my Civic so it has never really bothered me.

It doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it would. If you struggled with reversing normally, then maybe it would be an issue.

I find that the spoiler prevents me from getting blinded by cars driving behind me with badly focused lights at night.

It's only a problem if you have poor spacial awareness. It's poor alright but easily judged.

Like anything you will get used to it very quickly, after a few hours in a LWB Opel Vivaro I had gotten no rear window and no side windows behind the driver.

Yep, this. I won't deny visibility would be better without the spoiler there but it's not really an issue.

when i had mine thats what i liked about it too

i dont think its in the way at all

then again its not necessary to have a middle rear view mirror anyway
