Right getting a laptop from Amazon.de

which from what I can tell a decent amount of people here do, my question is, with the keyboard a lot of people recommend getting a replacement keyboard or those keyboard stickers. Is there any reason I can't just pop off the Z and the Y and swap them?

Yes on any modern laptop you'll most likely break the keys. There are also things move around like brackets that wont be possible to put in the right places.

    I'd go with the stickers.

I'm also interested in knowing if all laptops sold on the german amazon use german keyboards ?

Does anyone know if this keyboard would be in a german format ? amazon.de/Lenovo-Notebook-GeForce-Betriebssystem-schwarz/dp/B00KCJAI1A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1413645193&sr=8-2&keywords=840m

In that case, i wonder would this keyboard work with it:
    ebay.ie/itm/Wholesale-Lenovo-US-Framed-Keyboard-for-G50-70-G50-70m-/281496902181?pt=AU_Input_Peripherals&hash=item418a85da25

You *can* pop the keys off (I've done it successfully myself), but there's a chance you'll break them, especially if you pick the wrong edge to pop off first. I'd just go with the stickers (I have a set on a different keyboard, and they're a great, cheap, safe and simple solution).

Are there not any other differences, like some of the punctuation or the @ being in a different place or anything?

yea there will be a few other differences but to be on honest the Y and Z is the only thing that would slightly annoy me, I'll have a look see when it arrives next week, was messing around with the old laptop getting an idea of how awkward it would be to swap, if it's similar at all it should be fine.

Is not easier just to swap the whole keyboard?

Than swap 2 individual keys? I wouldn't have thought so, I'd have to open the whole thing to disconnect the keyboard, disconnect the backlight, not even sure what keyboard I'd have to buy for it.

On my dell its much faster to swap the keyboard. Swapping keys is a nightmare tiny plastic connections and easily broken. Might depend on the specific laptop of course.

If you can touch type, set it to English keyboard and don't look at the keys. I've a couple of Swiss and German laptops and they're fine unless you're looking for a backslash "\" on a regular basis.

Yea that's the best plan but just in case it annoys me I want to know what my options are.
