Lead cyclist needed for Clontarf Half Marathon 29th Nov

    Hi Folks,

    our lead guy had a crash today so looking for a replacement for Sat 29th November pls.
    Mountain bike required and someone with a good set of lungs and road race knowledge.
    I'd need to meet person in advance in Clontarf to brief in.
    Take one hour max on either Thursday morn/ early afternoon or Friday for brief.
    Then start time 10am to circa 11.15am on Saturday.
    €50 quid to cover the brief and race day.

    Just curious as to why it needs to be an MTB?

    Mainly because you are cycling on hard sand along the beach.

    In saying that I've used my road bike on several occasions (the sand is hard)

    So yes it can be a road bike. Wider tyres make will make it that bit easier - but there isn't a whole lot in it.
    The guys can only run so fast so its a smooth pace.

    Ah, gotcha. Won't be able to make it, sorry, but will post it on my club forum also, see if there are any takers :)
