    Hi guys,
Is a clinical psychologist qualified to diagnose a person with a mental health condition eg. bipolar disorder or must you go through a psychiatrist to receive a diagnosis?
    Thanks a million.

A diagnosis is a medical term, a psychiatric term, rather than a psychological term.

    Only doctors/psychiatrists diagnose.

Having said that, most mental health professionals will be familiar with diagnoses. In what context are you talking about this? Is it for insurance/disability claim?
