Notice + pay

    Quick query.

I handed in notice to my job, and have a new one lined up.

The last day of my notice, I had as a day off (in our place, you can pick your days off, and I had texted in that I needed it off).

They have rostered me in for that day, and a day after my notice period. I'm obviously not working the day after my notice period, and if needs be, I'll be calling in sick for the day i requested off.

Can they withold my pay for my other days, if I call in sick that one day?

No, and it's probably just an oversight on their part. Rather than get worried about it just point out to the person who does the roster that which day is your last day - your last day of course being the day before the one on your notice.

I did say it to them the I've been told I'm working it. :pac:

They have you rostered to work after you have left and said you have to do it....that's funny!

They're just trying to bully you into doing the hours for them. For what it's worth I'm delighted you're leaving there! I've read some of your posts on here about them, and they are beyond a joke.

you should work your full notice,

If you are changing your job, you are required by law to give your present employer notice of your decision to leave. The actual length of the notice you are required to give will depend on your contract of employment and on the minimum notice that you are required to you do not have a provision in your contract of employment dealing with notice, the statutory minimum notice of one week will apply and this is the notice that you should give your employer of your intention to leave. The statutory minimum notice of one week, is set down in Section 6 of the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act 1973.ive by law
