Can somebody tell me what the big deal is with these non waterproof super"dry" jackets? They look like cheap Penneys jackets.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭heldel00

They are all the rage at school. Little lads and lassies walking around in jackets costing €90! €90 for a children's jacket. Mental. And I found two of them left lying in hall and when I found owners hadn't even noticed they were missing! (One of them actually fitted me. Should have held on to it cos no way would I give 90 for a jacket like that!)

Will this definitely work in the Dundrum or City Centre/Suffolk st stores?

They are a fashionable brand name, as far as I know they don't claim to be waterproof. I've a Superdry jacket that's 4years old and still going strong so they are definitely better quality than pennies jackets anyway.

They don't only sell jackets, they sell everything from jeans, tshirts, hoodies, bags, etc.

I've some superdry stuff I bought in London in 2006 or so and it's still holding up - it's much better quality than a lot of other brands but the non sale prices are hideous.

Will this discount work? There is no barcode to be scanned at the till or code to be entered. Seems odd. Thanks.

I've actually 2 jackets, a big winter one(4years now) and a more casual jacket too, both are really good quality

    The winter one

If it is the same as a few weeks ago then you should be able to show it on your phone

The 3 zips are a pain, especially when drunk. Had to give up wearing the thing around Xmas, it was either the drink or the jacket.

They fire stuff out to Kildare Village or the airport branch (which has a "20% cheaper guarantee" or something similar) when it becomes old stock as far as I can tell.

I'd check out their official Ebay Store

    Some good value on it

I dont see why it wouldnt, a gift voucher is treated like cash,

Used this today in the Suffolk st shop with no hassle!
The standard of clothes is high and it lasts much longer.
Word of warning tho, If buying a jacket keep the receipt.
The zips have a tendency to wear and become dodgy.

Suffolk Street accept showing the image on your phone.

I had it printed but she told me to keep it as it runs to the 8th of Dec.
IMO this 30% off represents the 'true' value of the clothes in the shop, as they are a bit expensive otherwise.

Totally agree....I'm normally a large in tops but had to go to an XL....

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,558 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dades

I wouldn't agree the t-shirts are too pricey at the usual 29.99. I think the quality is excellent depending on the style you go for.

€20.99 is a great price using the voucher. And yes, Superdry XL is the equivalent of a size L with most tees.

Have a very happy 13 yr old who got a jacket and a happy mother who had to pay €66 instead of €94..Thanks OP

Picked up a few bits there....didn't even have to show the girl at the til the voucher...Once you mention the discount they give it to you. You can't fault the quality...If anything I find the clothes too good quality and they can be quite warm.

Well worth keeping an eye on eBay store as someone else mentioned there are some great bargains. I got jeans for €27 that were €78 in Gasoline in Mahon for exact same ones. Got a lovely fleece lined jacket for £39.99. Have loads of their T-shirts, Polo's and shirts all excellent quality.
