I recently bought an inverter arc welder because my old a/c one went to welder heaven. I cant weld near as good as I used to with my old a/c welder what am I doing wrong? what would be a 5 minute job on the old one is now prob half an hour with this one because I end up using the grinder as well and still end up with a mess. I know almost nothing about inverter welders only what i have read. Do I have to change the polarity of the leads to suit some welding rods?
    Any advice appreciated.

electrons flow from the - to the + , so you'll get a different effect depending which way you hook them up

your old welder was ac so it'd be balanced
