Just spotted this on Twitter. ATR42 EI-EHH has had Cityjet titles applied after it's recent repaint as it's off to do some flying on a new ACMI contract between Stobart Air and Cityjet.

Not 100% sure but I think it will be operating from Cardiff.

CWL-ORY too. Explains the Shannon base closure, albeit a lot more exciting prospects now for Stobart.

I don't see the connection. This is apparently starting in 6 days time and the SNN base still continues until next summer at least.
I'd say if they were to ax SNN, that something else would be announced for next summer. But some posters are disputing the base closure rumours anyway so it's far from confirmed.

I wonder if this will help CityJets future

There's no lack of F-50s lying around, am I reading too far into this or is this showing a visible split from VLM and CityJet?

Unfortunately for Cityjet there is a lack of F50's. They are already two separate companies.

I was aware of the management buy out, but didn't think there's any shortage on Fokkers at the end of operational life

You would wonder why Cityjet didn't keep the arrangement with VLM to do it.
Did Stobart come in cheaper ?

I do. All SNN, EIR routes have been removed from the booking engine from 05/01/15. That with the winning of PSO contracts to CFN and extension to KIR - Plus the lease of an AT4 to BCY it looked like a fairly easy decision for Stobart's Management team.

I thought the Shannon base closure postponement is only extended to January?

Nope, gone for good now after the 5th Jan.

That's what I meant. I thought it was suggested here that it wasn't closing until summer.

I understood yes that it it was to close in Dec but they got a stay of execution until Jan 5th.

You are speaking about 2 aircraft, not one.

It seems from reading other forums that CBK will be based in Donegal and EHH will operate the Cityjet flights.

Since CBK was the single ATR operating the SNN operation, then the transfer of that aircraft to the PSO services is the reason. The start /finish dates match up too.

The Cardiff operation is not connected.

Well aware of that, now what's your point?

Wait if EHH has now gone to Cityjet and with one AT42 left CBK. How will CBK be able to do DUB-KIR and DUB-CFN or is Stobart acquiring another 42 for the PSO routes?

Stobart have the Kerry contract already, so no aircraft issues there

AT72 on DUB-KIR from 1st Feb, such is demand. ;)

Thanks for the answer! So CBK will be based in Donegal?

Yep would assume it have no idea of the schedules yet, but I'm fairly certain an early departure is required at CFN for the PSO. :)

I don't think it will be based there. It will be dublin based and overnight in Donegal as they did in 2011.
