I really feel for the family in this case:

    http://metro.co.uk/2014/11/22/father-throws-chair-at-judge-after-absurdly-low-sentence-for-driver-who-killed-his-daughter-4958142/

The guilty party had been driving at 120kph in a 80kph zone when he lost control and crashed into the grandparents car killing both the grandparents and the 2 year old daughter.
The sentence? 120 hours of community service! Fret not though because if he doesn't complete it he will be sent to prison for 60 days.
What an absolute joke of a sentence, you'd swear the guy robbed some clothes from Zara.
I can understand the fathers rage and it's a shame the chair didn't knock some sense into the judge.
The guilty person has apparently never even said sorry.

Is today April 1st? As that's the only logical thought I can come up with having read that article
There's got to be a windup there somewhere?

Motoring offences need radical overhauling just about everywhere. A driver is responsible for a couple of tonnes of metal moving at speeds that will kill anything they hit and negligence and dereliction of that responsibility should be penalised much more harshly than they are.

At the same time I don't know why that guy was so angry, yer man could probably only get a very short sentence anyway, I'd be glad to get at him sooner.

Seriously, Don't. At least not if you have children yourself.

dont click on that nanny facing attempted murder charges link:(

In a happy ending, she's now in a wheelchair and eating through a tube after the father beat her into a coma

If it was my child, she'd be eating nothing through any tube. A drip more likely.

    .

I'm a bit rusty on maths but my rough estimate is that 120 hours is about 5 days in length and 60 days is about 2 months.
Wether he completes the community service or not, he still would have gotten off rather lightly for killing 3 people.

Works out at 40 hours per death. Justice served me ass.

Being Dutch living in Ireland i get a double dose of **** justice presented in front of me on almost a daily basis.

Point was made by the judge that the prick was driving anywhere between 76 km/h and 120 km/h and therefor couldnt rewardhim with a prison sentence for 18 months.

Article makes it as if he was doing 120 but no one knows for sure.

Interview in the Dutch papers have the father of the 2 year old say that the fact the criminal didnt show any remorse hurted most.

He is not charged with anything for throwing that chair btw.
