hi,im looking for advise on a grant vortex outdoor heat pack frost stat. the boiler is belong to a friend who lives 40 miles away. The boiler is coming on during the night sometimes lately.
My question is,is the frost stat built into the boiler control box and if so, if i open the control box is the frost stat like a normal frost stat,i.e,can it be adjusted?,thanks

Faulty motorized valve can also be the cause of heating switching on at odd times.
    Maybe ??

its a grant 15/21 outdoor module, small house,no motorised valves in house.with the top panel, front panel, back panel off the housing there is no sign of a frost stat so im thinking it has to be inside the control panel as it cant be anywhere else.
there is no information in the in the instruction manual but it does say there is a frost stat in the boiler

Yes the manual says its preset to 5 degrees.Have you seen this thermostat in a grant vortex or in another grant boiler?,And how do you adjust the thermostat from 5 degrees down to 0 degrees

The thermostat as far as I remember is non adjustable. That 5 degrees is measured in the boiler casing which
Is reasonably insulated so it would equal an outside temp of around 1 -0 degrees

The 5 degree preset frost stat can be changed to a 1 degree frost stat preset non adjustable.A Plumber merchants could order one of these for you from grant
