Madden, if you go on to limmy web site and look at their Twitter feed you will see all the prices. Don't need a Twitter account either.

Not that many prices up, and not great either. Wonder was the clearance rate very low?

The report will probably be out Tuesday. If the rate was low they will not give it:P

The hole is really falling out of the Lims at the moment. To many about and a very small geen pool. Allot of new blood needed. Pitty as allot of work goes into them. They will cum back swinging in a few years when the numbers fall a bit agen.

I have two Purebred Limousin cows at the moment. Bought them at handy enough money. Went to two Society sales and them picked out in the catalogue before I went. Once they looked half decent enough, when I got there, I took a gamble on them. The way I see it, no point in paying big money for the rosette, when you have no idea how she'll breed. I see it with my own sucklers, It's often the plain looking ones that breed the best. A lot of PB animals are seriously pampered before the sales. From very quiet ET mothers that have bags of milk to high energy, protein diets that would put top weightlifters to shame.
As for prices, I think it's really down to supply and demand at the moment. There's a lot of PB cows around and the demand is falling since the demise of the bull beef trade. If I remember right, a full sister of Castleview Gringo sold for €2,800 at the last sale I was at. I hope to be in it for the longterm anyway. Bit of a pastime, if I'm honest.
With prices so low at the moment, no better time to get in. :)

Main problem comes from the Wealing sales. Limos are €100 less per head than the charli even though it may only be the color in the difference between the two.
Those wild limo`s are still doing the rounds as well and they aren't helping the matter either

Really? Even the Derrypatrick herd has shown the CH does better in the final 100 day finishing period. Fair enough the LM is ahead up to that point.

The fact that it was a heifer sale doesnt inspire confidence. I have thought that the limo heifers would make good cows with plenty milk (They milk better than the charli). They can still be crossed with a charli bull to produce a great calf.
I still think a lot of the problems come from the wild ones doing the rounds in the marts, you know the one that goes into the ring and lunges at every one, stone mad and pure cracked weanlings too.
