Poor customer service from Living Social

I am curious to know if the bad customer service experience I am having with Living Social is typical. A few days ago I made a refund request through the specified area on their website. It took quite a while as after listing the reason for requesting the refund (and going into a fair amount of detail), the page locked up and I had to start all over again. After finally submitting the request and receiving confirmation on screen of same, I found the following email in my inbox:

    Hello!

In order to help you with your issue as quickly as possible, our customer service center is available by phone only. To have your issue resolved, please contact us on UK: 0 203 356 0899 or Ireland: 01 653 5675. We're available Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. GMT.

Thank you for LivingSocial, Consumer Advocate Team

Is this for real? If the only way to contact them is by phone why do they make people fill in forms online? I have tried to phone them twice but after holding for 5 minutes on each occasion without getting to speak to anyone, I hung up. I don't have the time or the inclination to pay national call rates for long periods of listening to hold music. Their website states that their 01 phone number is toll free which is blatantly wrong.

I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me of a way to contact Living Social.

"Good service" & "living social" have never appeared in he same sentence.

    I'm surprised they still exist
