So as the thread says, I'm out of contract.
So what are my options for anyone in the know?... Should I cancel and go back in as a new customer or negotiate as a current customer.

Currently I have half price sports and movies, but that'll expire after Christmas and Ill get them out again as I do most years.
I get Sky Go for free (6 quid saving)
And half price multi room also about to expire.
After a brief call they are offering me HD for 7.50 for a year or €10 for 2 years but both invoke a new 12 month contract.

As a new customer, what can I expect? At the very least a new wireless box, but anyone in the know of what I am better doing?

Going in as a new customer is fraud as you are not a new customer. They have all your details, how on earth do you think you will get away with it?

Like all the other thousands who do it every year I suppose by not being as either naive or alarmist as your good self

Not very many will get away with signing up anymore for a second time in same address as sky has new measures in place to prevent it.

Really? I live in the country and about 30 houses on the same road has the same address. I myself have signed up 4 times as a new customer. Might be running out of different names now though :)

How would they prevent it in areas with no house numbers? They can't.

Same surname, same bank account, same phone number, same hse address as an account just closed a few days before etc....to list but a few... and I have had a few ppl fail despite moving into an area...as hse was listed on skys account and owed money...

Before people just changed to wifes name used same phone number and it would go through no sweat not anymore.

Same name? Use the Irish version of your name or even the name of someone else living in the house.

Same bank account? Some people have more than one. If not then use the bank deatails of someone else in the house.

I am not willing to pay their rip off prices so I don't have Sky TV. I assure you that I won't be coming to you crying.

The possibilities are endless why even the same house would need a new account such as I am separated from my wife we are both living in the same house she wants sky I don't separate CC separate mobile no landline etc and all that's assuming you even have to explain. Sign up for the new account first and cancel the existing second what's the worst could happen they are not going to issue proceedings they definitely aren't going to leave you without tv they could withdraw any promotional offer which leaves you back where you started
