I have a 01 Seat Ibiza 1.0l and today I was driving home in the lashing rain when a warning light came on and flashes constantly. Its an orange light with a line and half circle! The wipers are stuck in the second fastest position, rear wiper does not work at all. Any ideas??

    Thanks!!

Try here, see if you can ID the warning light, doesn't sound familiar to me

    Tire_Pressure_Amber.jpg

If this is it, it's a tyre pressure warning light.

They had problems with the stalks I had the same issue minus the light on my 98 ibiza years back. Cant remember how we sorted sorry but I think I changed the stalks in the end.

Found it, its the rear foglight light. Strange, that has nothing to do with the problem. Didn't even know I had rear foglights. The electrics are atrocious on this, the stereo has the habit of turning itself on even when the car is off.

Is this just a matter of replacing the fuses, or something more problematic.

TBH if you don't know what you're at you would be better off leaving it with someone who does. It could be any one of a number of things. A quick read through your manual if you have one will tell you what all the dash lights are for. I think you could be looking at a potential fire hazzard there if you're saying things are coming on and off on their own even when the car is switched off.

Does the flashing of the light keep time with the wipers? If so you have a strange earth fault IMO. Current is flowing from one circuit to the other where there should be no connection. One of several judging by the general poor electrics you refer to. Ever been flooded?

Nope, no manual. Couldnt find that light online for ages, few cars have rear foglights. The radio coming on is a common problem in older Ibizas apparently. I will leave it with someone, but hoped for a cheaper fix.

I haven't noticed, I will check when I get home! No it was never flooded, but it that does make sense.

    Thanks guys for the help

Actually, very few cars if any these days, don't have them.
