How the hell do I do this. Renewing WAN does nothing. Do they allow customers to request a change?

what do you mean? getting a new ip address? more likely than not, even though it's dynamic there will be a reservation for your specific device so you'll just get the same ip address.

I don't know if it's just the area I'm in or what, but I get a new IP every time I reboot the modem or renew my WAN. Although I have a TC7200 bridged with my own router.

How do I go about bridging the box? Are there instructions anywhere online.

I don't think you can bridge a Horizon box unfortunately.

What a pain. Out of interest, do you know they've chosen to make their assigned IP this way? With my previous provider I merely had to restart everything. I made frequent use of it. I read on the forum in a past post someone saying bridging also forced a renewal, and they suggested changing their MAC address would have worked as well. Is this likely?

    Worked for what?

You might be able to change the mac address if you have access to the management gui of the router and even then I'm not sure all routers support this.

If you tell us what it is you're trying to achieve we might be able to help better.

I'd prefer not to say, but you can probably guess. Bypassing a ban.

Forcing the IP to change with it. No idea if thats possible/likely.

Anyway, I'll probably have to just contact them on Monday.

if it's a website you're banned from you can just try to use a web proxy?
if it's a gaming service or something it's going to be somewhat more complicated

You may have a hard time explaining quite why you need a new IP address :o
Off hand I can't think of any valid reasons why you'd need to and 'to bypass a ban' is likely not to help your case much.

i'd be really surprised if they change it for you.

Ive heard that if the modem is off for a couple of days you'll get a new one

why not just use a vpn of some sort to get around it
