I was thinking of sourcing / paying for a boiler myself and getting a qualified person to install it in the summer / no rush on this.

8 rads in place here - Im told I need 18KW.

Roughly how much is a good one?

    Thanks

It's better and cheaper to get plumber to supply and fit.
Plumber charges 13.5% vat on supply & fit.

Your paying 23%vat on boiler purchase.
Plumber is ment to charge 23% vat on labour if material supplied by him is less than 1/3 the instulation bill.

+ less hassle with boiler gaurantee.

+ boiler warrente is from date of purchase.

Sure I will fit it myself .... Plumbing, sure all you need is some tape, a few spanners, hack saw :-)

Ah my plan to buy and stash a boiler until I can afford an install has holes in it re warranty date etc.

Was worth consideration but looks like a non runner

I'm stuck With my baxi all in one fire place / boiler inefficient
combo arse. Can't even put a simple fire there until its gone
