    Just a quick query:

If I work 9am to 5:30pm 5 days a week with 30 minutes for lunch how many hours have I worked in the week.

Really what I am asking is do I include or exclude my lunch break?

I don't know. What does your contract say?

I will have to go search it out - not sure.

Was just wondering if there was a standard practice or government guidelines on it.

I don't think the half hour break gets counted and you therefore work 8 hours a day. I don't have a link to back that up though.

You need to check your contract, but I'd guess you have to exclude your lunch break.

You work 8h. Very few employess pay for breaks these days.

Fairly certain lunch breaks are unpaid for unless the employer places an onus to remain on premises during that period, then it could be argued this might be time on call.

I'm salaried employee with no entitlement to OT - I'm not asking in the respect to what pay I'm owed.

The reason I ask is I'm counting time for the year and how much overtime I have done so that I could maybe negotiate an extra ay or two off at Christmas.

You don't get paid for lunchtime. Google "The Organisation of Worktime Act". All you need to know is there.

Anywhere I have ever worked your lunch break doesn't get counted
