offer accepted, can meet in half way house naval rd

i bought this for 150e but i don't have any idea how to check authenticity of this ess, all i can say is the plastic parts are cleaner compared to clone and the battery holder are full metal..but i may be wrong, best is for you to check this out. Or you may post a weblink instruction on how to check if genuine or not.

Lens are good as new for smoke/black and clear lens has sign of use.

Oh, and the mesh are just DIY of mine from a speaker cover which is slightly bigger holes compared to the mesh goggle on the market.

    thanks

Can you meet me a bit closer I really dont want to have to drive into dublin for this , could you get as far as Enfield ?

I was wondering about the mesh as I didnt think ess came with it.

Did you have to make the mesh after the fan failed ? or are they sucepable to fogging any way ?

Was looking on line for identifiers and an article said ESS don't use cable ties to attach the wiring on to the goggles.
Theres another thing you can check .... how do you remove the battery cap ?

really appreciate your help JW and i can't accept the fact i paid 150euro for this ess goggles.
I remove battery cap by twisting it counter clockwise.

But i found out on this forum http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26408&page=4 that this ess goggles falls on the category of the real one, but will appreciate if you can post the link of the website about the identifier regarding cable tie that ess don't use those materials.

no i'm confused and still open for offer..

    Hi Jonathan,

It was actually that same article it states and has comparison pics .... "the inside wires, on the true turbofans, are glued in place, the clones.. are zip tied"

The battery caps are threaded on the real and a 1/4 twist off on the clones

The foam is closed cell on the real open on the clones

The lenses slots/ circles on the real are smaller than the clones.

there are other posts out there listing the same things as above and a few amazon reviews list them.

For what its worth I think you where honest and not trying to scam anyone , it seams it very hard to spot the clones.

Not trying to thread spoil but they look pretty genuine to me. They look like the first version made by ESS, but they did not come with mesh. Assuming they were made up for it afterwards? The wiring was cable tied on original ones but should be covered by a layer of thin foam (not visible like in the pic). The battery housing cover is quarter twist off and threaded.
The foam looks the correct closed cell type. Generally there's no markings on the clone switch inside.
How old are they? I bought a pair from the main dealer back in about 2007/8 they cost 165. A few mates bought them also and had a few problems (one yellow lens de-laminated and on another the fan stopped working) and both were replaced / repaired by the agent.
The clone version came out about 2009/10 and was slightly bigger.
I can't post pics till I hit 50 posts but let me know if you want some for comparison.

thanks very much, but there are two pictured comparison on that website, first is a fake ess (looks like profile turbofan series) vs genuine ess stryker(the one that don't use cable tie) as posted by "mrobben"

and the 2nd picture comparison is a real ess profile turbofan vs fake profile turbofan in which case both of them uses cable tie. A lot of comparison in this 2nd pictures reflects that i have a real one. It was posted by "mr kong" just on the same page. This is the same model i have but i don't know which version is mine. I will post additional pictures later and will really appreciate your help cause i'm a bit oc know on this confusion.

Thanks a mil! aside from sale thread and still open for offers, i hope this will help our fellow airsofters knowledge of a knock off vs the genuine for this ess goggles.
