Hi everyone just wondering does anyone know how long you have to wait for the determination from the EAT? It was hard enough waiting for the case to heard never mind awaiting the decision.

    A few months at least.

Suggest both sides write to EAT asking that the matter be expedited, giving some reasons

It depends on the type of case that was brought.

Unfair dismissals would be a lot more complicated than maternity, working-time and wages cases, and would be expected to take the longest.

However, even complicated unfair dismissal determinations could be communicated within a couple of months. I'm not sure if there is a Dublin/rural divide. I suspect rural cases take longer to be heard, but are determined faster.

How long are you waiting for a determination now?

Thanks for the replies. Its only been a matter of weeks since the hearing however they said they would have a determination in a couple of weeks. I am just anxious to know. Patience isn't my strong point.

    How long was your hearing?

From what I was told, if there is a lot of evidence to go through it can take 6 months.
