Where to sell

I have a pretty decent collection of designer handbags I no longer use/like. While I'm all for charity and giving I don't want to just hand them over for nothing. I worked hard for the money to pay for them and would like to recoup some of it back. While I know I won't get near half of what I paid for each bag I'd still like to think I'd get a decent enough amount to warrant the time and effort it will take to sell them.

My question is "where is best to try and sell these bags"? Is it the likes of Done Deal and Adverts?

    TIA

    Hi central,

Your thread would be more suited to Fashion & Appearance so I have moved it there.

Try DoneDeal and Adverts for sure

I came across https://www.thehandbagexchange.com/sell also, never used them though so I've no idea how successful they are.

You can try Donedeal and Adverts.

Another option (if you're in Dublin) is Siopaella. They will take in the bags from you, sell them, and pass you part a portion of the sale.

If you're in Dublin it might be worth trying The Secret Closet in Howth, they only keep things for 3 months and if they haven't sold by then they return them. It's designer/high-end stuff only and they split 50-50 for the service of selling them.

I use Luxeswap for consignments. Based in New York but sells on eBay so the price can go very high. I've seen designer bags on that site go into the 100s.

I have seen proper luxury bags eg LV bags sell for a third less than what they cost new on adverts.ie. But they in mint condition with receipt/ OP you are better selling yourself on adverts.ie than selling it to a shop that want a big cut themselves. Sell them now for christmas gifts and because people cut their spending hugely in Jan/Feb.

I dont blame not giving them to a charity, as the prices for most luxury goods in charity shops are ridiculous low. I have seen a decent amount of people selling their stuff online and giving all proceeds to charity( as the charity will get more money, than the charity shop prices)
