Harvey for me, or May's. As individual tries go they're brilliant

I'm surprised thimbles from France isn't in there, or Sexton's. Both tries were top drawer in what was essentially the biggest NH game this year

    Hendricks for me.

    Hendricks for me

first cos its a team try and second because it was practically impossible to defend.
most of the other tries have signs of bad defending (especially mays)

    International rugby players association.

Edit: the selecting panel consisted of Samoa's Seilala Mapusua, New Zealand's Jeff Wilson, Ireland's Alan Quinlan and Dan Parks of Scotland.

Harvey. Without a doubt. Belter of a try.

You'd think they'd have waited at least until the Autumn internationals were over!

Roberts for me, real team try there. Hendricks was a lovely try but JP Pietersen should have been brought down sooner I thought.

Harvey's try was pure individual skill, really good but I prefer a team worked try. If the criteria is on individualism she has to win.

    And cucumber.

I hate 2 of those tries.

    Hendricks.

The forward pass for Hougaard's try just ruins it for me.

 can i ask why? i mean at the end of the day she ran the pitch out paced an attempted ankle tap and cut inside a defender, not really ground breaking stuff.

For the record i dont think May's was that great either... hell even i could skin smith on the outside

    ok, that makes more sense!

Hougaard for me. Excellent skill levels throughout and nice mix of play, passing, offloads from the deck, grubber etc.

Others all leave me a bit cold. Roberts was lovely interplay but it was against a 14 man Scotland. Hendricks' was a great score but not quite the skill levels across the board shown in Hougaard's.

May's was a brilliant individual effort!

I'd rule out May's as his is just burning people on the outside and Roberts as it was against 14 men.
    I can't pick between the other 3.

She ran into the corner just to make the conversion a bit of a challenge then slotted it from the touchline with the outside of her boot.

It's the jink and step. The pace at which she shuffles is extremely difficult to pull off. She completely skinned the last defender despite running straight at her. Very impressive bit of individual skill.

Also, smith is a very good defender?

I wouldn't necessarily focus on Smith's defending, anyone can get caught on an outside arc if the carrier get a run on them.

    Daggs defending however was atrocious

Hougaard's effort has been installed as the 8/5 favourite for the award by SA bookies, narrowly ahead of team-mate Cornal Hendricks' five-pointer on his debut against Wales in Durban in June, at (7/4).
The other contenders for the award are tries by Welshman Jamie Roberts (10/3), England’s Jonny May (6/1) and Canada’s IRB Women’s Player of the Year 2014, Magali Harvey (8/1).
