I agree with him. He didn't call them dogs, btw, just used an analogy and likened their behaviour to that of a pack of hunting dogs chasing the rabbit.

I'm sure many of the protesters were impeccably well behaved. But some over stepped the mark in terms of decency and respect.

The lights still on after the six o'clock hour at the FG HQ today, they are definitely keeping busy these days. Most days the place'd be desolate long before that time

Referring to them as "like hounds after a fox" is not the same as referring to them as dogs. Plus, he seems to have been talking about certain factions and not all protesters.

When I saw footage of the protest on Saturday I was struck with the similarity between Burton in her car and a rat caught in a cage. With the latter you usually drown them in a barrel of water.

Generally dogs are a lot stronger than foxes and are relatively likely to catch them, therefore I conclude that Enda has inadvertently stated that the government stands absolutely no chance against the wave of dissent currently sweeping the nation

You have obviously no experience of hounds chasing a fox. The fox, thankfully, has much more stamina and guile than the hounds. It also knows its territory much better. It therefore is not caught by the hounds very often. Immaterial to the topic but just to correct manipulation of facts to suit your point.

Fair enough, I'll admit indeed to not having much experience of the subject, was making assumptions.

Fact remains that Enda and Joan are emulating King Canute here by riding into the sea challenging the tide to a fight. History will record that 2014 was the year the Irish people finally decided that enough injustice was enough.
