Hi folks. My sky router seems to be dead and I can't wait "up to five days" for a replacement.

I have a tp-link backup router but I don't know the Sky config settings for it.

    Username:
    Password:
    Connection Type:
    VPI:
    VCI:
    MTU:

    Etc.....

Could any of you kind souls help me please?

You actually need to extract a password and username from your Sky hub to use a third party router: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/extracting-sky-router-passwords/

Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to go down that route, I rang Sky again and they utterly steadfastly refused to give me my username and password.

If I wasn't still locked to my initial 12 month contract I would have told them where to go and no mistake

If your router is broken, you won't be able to extract it. You'll have to wait for your replacement.

Extract the username and password from the new one just in case that breaks too.

They don't have that info to give to you ;)

Also, if the router was sent yesterday, you will probably have it by tomorrow
