Ryanair app question

I used the Ryanair app (Android) for the first time this weekend and on the whole it went well, no problems with security, using it to buy stuff in the shops, or checking in at the gate, but for one thing I'm a bit confused about.

Before leaving for Dublin airport, I started up the app, clicked the boarding pass button and retrieved what I assumed to be just the outgoing boarding passes. That worked well, but when I got to my destination, I thought / assumed the old, used boarding passes would then automatically disappear and I'd be able to then retrieve the ones for the return journey, but even on the same day as my departure, clicking the boarding pass button still just brought up the same old ones and didn't give me the option to download the new ones.

In the end, I went into the app manager and deleted the app's data, which brought it back to it's senses and I could then retrieve my return boarding passes, but I'm sure that this isn't the way it's supposed to work.

So, is this a bug, or am I missing something obvious (but not to me!) about how this is supposed to work? When I initially retrieved the passes, were they all on there somewhere, but I just didn't know how to access them?

There was another thread on Ryanair (the seating one I think) and there were a couple of posts about the awful app. It doesn't work like it's supposed to.
I tried to book flights with it but it wouldn't go to the next stage to select destination city, it just kept making me select the departure... Someone else had other trouble with the app and gave up.
I won't be trying it again any time soon, or at least til I hear everyone's raving about it.... So yes, there's issues with the app, it's a bit half-ar$ed, I've no other app that's as frustrating, at least not from reputable companies.

Haven't used it yet but last week for a flight I did have the PDFs of my tickets and screenshots on my tablet in case there was an issue with the printed ones or if I lost them but I should've tried seeing if they would've accepted the PDF/Screenshot passes at the gate, anyone know if they could scan off the tablet screen just as well as off paper?

    hello all,
twice in the last month my HTC phone was unable to finish off my boarding pass. the little airplane whizzed round and round but no joy.

On the first occasion i was on a Belgian motorway and after 40 mins of no go, i pulled into a service area, hooked up to their wifi and hey presto it worked.

Last time in ireland ,same story, was on Buseireann, hooked onto theirs,it did state weak signal, no go, neither there or on my meteor broadband.
Luckily at the airport a helpful Ryanair girl (Spanish lady), rang the tech people. she could see no sign of me trying to book in, the tech people, since it was her second such call of the day allowed her to print me in for free.

Am booked to fly home tomorrow, dont want to check in till morning in case any work crops up, but am a bit wary

    any suggestions?

    Regards
