Just wondering about other peoples experience with howdidido.
Not sure why but my club seem to only put up some comps on it, and its regularly the sunday comp that they don't put up and its always the sunday that i play, seem like any week that I actually play well, it will be the week they dont put up. I would understand if it was a classic or some other format, but its single comps they are missing.
Do other clubs only put up some or all?

I've been meaning to ask someone in the club why, but I keep forgetting.

My club posts all competitions for which scores have been entered on the computer.
It does take a bit of effort on the part of competition/handicap committees, we're lucky there are enough guys willing to volunteer their time to do the job.

If I was you, I'd write a friendly letter to the committee asking why the scores are not posted. You might get roped in to giving a dig out on a Sunday afternoon :)

I have no doubt that would happen:D
Do you (anyone) know much about it?
Is there much work involved? can it be done offsite? All scores are entered into the computer, so is there much more input needed?

As far as the HDID bit is concerned it's just a question of ticking a box to confirm it's ok to publish results once the competition is closed and cards have been checked. A lot of people blame HDID when results aren't posted but 99% of the time it will be down to your own fixtures secretary.

I really can't say how much work is involved.

I'm pretty sure the competition can be closed remotely, but I would imagine there would have to be some validation of scores entered against scorecards. I have heard stories of people mixing up gross with stableford pts when entering scores on the computer e.g. 1 for 5pts instead of 5 for 1pt.

I had this out with are competition secretary as the scores are not updating on the club website or howdidido website, his response was he hasn't time to update the club website( he's voluntarily) and all scores are sent to the gui were howdoido get them from and that he'll send them a mail. I also sent them a mail but got no response.

He basically told me to sign up to howdidido, and when I told him I was and it wasn't updated he said he send the mail as they get all the results of the gui.

Masterscoreboard is to me looks and reads a lot easier than the how do you do me aul flower results portal, espeically the way the competitors individuals hole scores are shown throughout the year, it is handy when you are doing analysis/research on selecting teams and pairings for interclub selections.

Is it really a tick of a box or is it actually more? Can't understand why 20% of our comps aren't on it if that's the case. Maybe a couple of people in the club look after it and only some of them know to "tick the box"?

I've been competition secretary at our club for the last year and when a competiton is closed it automatically sends the result to howdidido.it can depend on the internet speed that your club has ,we have dial up Internet and ours is very slow so what I do is while its uploading to howdidido I put up the results on the notice board and send out the emails and put the results on Facebook and by then hopefully its up otherwise I go home and upload it from my laptop. If your club has wifi there's no excuse not to upload it straight away as it only takes a few minutes.I will say the odd time there is a problem with howdidido and it won't let me upload the result so I try do it the next day if I can

This is wrong howdidido get the results from each clubs system .The Gui have nothing to do with the howdidido system .All scores are sent to Golfnet for handicap purpose for each player not for results

As much as I wish this to be true the competitons can't be closed remotely
