    Hey guys,

Just wondering do people think LinkedIn Premium is good? Thinking of signing up for a free account for a month, but is it relatively easy to cancel before it starts charging?

I had the free months trial of premium. If you are looking for work its well worth signing up for. Lets you see who's viewing your profile and even gives you insights into what kind of people are applying for jobs (as well as how you rank among them).

Make sure to set a reminder to cancel the subscription before the month is out. I forgot to by one day and was charged something like €30 for the next month which I didn't even need as I had got a job at that stage.

Did you get the job through LinkedIn out of interest? I think their prices are pretty steep, but if it makes that much of a difference while job hunting, it could be worth a punt...

I didn't actually. A recruiter found my CV on Irishjobs.ie and I managed to get an interview at a place. But I applied for a good few jobs through LinkedIn and had started to get emails back so its definitely worth the free trial. I don't think I'd pay for the subscription passed the free month though.

I get contacted about once a month on LinkedIn by employers/recruiters, I don't see how premium would make a difference.

It makes little difference, but its a nice addition for a free month.

Hmmm, do you get to see any of the anonymous profiles that view yours?

Yep. They are revealed in all their glory. :D

Me? About 50/50, I don't care who views. All that matters is who reaches out.

Yep. It can be pretty annoying when you can't see who is viewing you!

    Why?

I'd like to know is it someone who's in my industry and might be interested in hiring me, or just a college friend/passer by.

Ok, fair enough. Personally, I wouldn't part with cash for that info.

Bumping this thread as I don't think this question is worth one of its own.

Is there any way to deactivate LinkedIn for a period of time? Similar to what you can do with Facebook if you want to go off it for a while but when you return all your friends, likes etc. are still the same.

Not that I know of, you could just delete your profile and then create a new one. Just our of curiosity, what would motivate you to do that?

By the way, concerning the premium service, I'm pretty certain that users still remain anonymous if they wish to be through their settings regardless of whether the profile which they are viewing is premium or not.

Has many people found work from it?

I just set one up today but no idea how to use it.

I don't want to delete the profile as I have a huge number of connections and some good recommendations there. When I'm job hunting I put a lot of effort into LinkedIn so don't want it to be wasted.

My motivation - two reasons. One is I find I get a bit 'addicted' to social networking sites and find myself on them too much. It's usually Facebook this happens on and when I know I'm over doing it, I deactivate it and go off it for a while. Secondly, for unknown reasons to me someone from an old job keeps checking my profile; not a huge issue I know but they are doing it about twice a week and as I didn't have a great relationship with them I want to get them out of the habit. I could obviously delete them but don't want to be seen as burning my bridges.

    Hi All,
I signed up for a free premium month but then started getting charged 27 euro a month. Anyone know how I can sign out of this??

    Thanks
