To be fair I'm not in the country so Ireland is off the radar. But from looking at the News on RTE's website it looks like there's a fair bit of protesting going on. Much more than for anything else over the last few year, why?

Is it because it actually affects the chavs this time, dole spongers element of society? and they're the ones out doing the protesting? :) It looks like it from the stuff I've seen online.

So fair play to the scummers! at least they've some balls. Unlike the rest of y'is middle class dweebs :p

Says the OP, chucking sods from abroad. I personally have no problem with water charges but I respect the right of people to protest if they wish. As for the wonderful insight of the OP, I'm afraid your view from a distance is somewhat warped.

You might want to share your insights on the issue on the Water Charges Mega Thread. Good luck with that!

Look at that passive aggressive little smiley you've placed after that baiting bullshit comment.

You know what you do, son? Get your boots on and turn up to one of those protests and tell them what you think of them.

You'd never do that though because you're probably terrified of the public and spend an awful lot of time and energy avoiding other people.

You can be pretty sure if Social Welfare/low income receipiants were exempt from the charge, then these protests would be non existent.
