What do people think of organic farming. What are the profits like in each enterprise? Seen lad in journal doing organic beef & was making decent money.

All farmers in the journal make a profit never have any losses and pay down debt in record time ;)

There is a subsidy of I think 220ha for the first 3 years and 117ha there after, of course it's profitable. Lots won't change because they can't stand the sight of a few dock or ragwort on the field.

Glenisk are currently looking for 2000 extra cows for winter milk.

Did you see te article I posted a few days ago from the Organic Producer newsletter. It was reporting an oversupply of organic beef.
I know little about the organic market but it's worth reading and researching further.

Yeah seems to be a big demand for organic produce. Some who have joined are making good money. What bonus do glenisk pay for winter milk & what is base price?
