Ok so you come to a stop sign. You are coming onto a road where there is traffic coming from the right

Do you stop dead, wait and then nudge your way out or do you stop dead and wait for no traffic or your chance to go

    Its a town street

You should nudge out if necessary to have a clear line of sight for any approaching traffic.

'Peep and creep' so that you can see what is coming, but wait until there is a gap to pull out.

Make sure you first stop dead at the stop sign. Then peep and creep.

Yup, very important. Careful there, there's a major difference between peep and creep and not stopping at all.

Good point and just to add, there might not be a stop sign but a solid line across the road, which also means you must come to a stop first. Something a lot of people forget about!

Many good points above, but a clarification is needed.
You are creeping forwards so you can see the road better,
NOT to force others to stop.
