I am a teenager (15) and am looking to begin working out and gain some muscle. I am looking to purchase a dumbbell and barbell set and I saw one on argos for a good price and was wondering if I should buy it or not. I am only a beginner and I don't know whether this set is too heavy or too light. I am a skinny lad, at about 60kg 5 foot 11.

    This is the product:

    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/1514849/Trail/searchtext%3EDUMBELL+AND+BARBELL+SET.htm

if you want i would really appreciate it if you guys could recommend a good weight set I should buy and begin working out on. Price shouldn't be too high

I wouldn't advise getting the one shown. There's very little weight with it. You'll quickly build up to lifting that much easily.
if you had the extra money, this wouldn't be too bad... it might drop in price towards Christmas. Failing that, you could keep an eye on listings on Adverts and Donedeal. The set I linked would serve you better because the plates are solid metal: more durable and take up less space on the bar, which itself can take a lot more weight than the bar in the vinyl set.
    Hope this helps, good luck.

A quick look on Donedeal there and these three came up...

    http://www.donedeal.ie/gym-for-sale/selection-of-weights-for-sale/8100545

Just examples, and show that good deals can be got. Often are Christmas especially (February or that), lads give up their New Years health kick and will sell stuff. If you're patient you can get good deals.

at 15 I think the money would be better spent towards a gym membership than weight set.

You will outgrow your weights very very quickly, whereas you wont outgrow a gym. (well, not as quickly)

plus you'll be in the mix so to speak and around more people who you can learn from.

Not that getting weights of your own is a bad idea, just my 2 cents.

either way I would advise avoiding those plastic wrapped york weights and go for actual iron plates, they hold their value more for reselling and you will get more longevity from them as the york ones fill a bar up at a relatively light weight. you can only fit 2 or 3 large plates each side of a bar. the iron ones can load a lot more.

Speaking as someone that got a set at 14 I'd say put your money towards a gym membership or if geography or cash is a problem then hold off and get an Olympic bar and weights secondhand.
If you get a vinyl set after a while it will be too light and will be useless to you and you'll have to start again anyway.
