    I believe it's Aer Lingus, but I'm not 100%.

I always thought there was a mail flight with a cargo airline

I've seen mail bags loaded onto Aer Lingus flights anyway

I imagine they have contracts with all providers and choose who ever gives the cheapest rate on the day.

I had a look at their last days for posting for Christmas and I doubt that they are using airlines, slow boat imo.

I think they use Aer Lingus for the states but im nearly 100% sure its the DHL flight that brings it to EMA in the early hours of the morning, cant remember the exact time.

I thought this too ! And for some reason I have this idea of a bluebird mail flight going to the UK from Cork at night too but I could be dreaming!!!

shiped with EI to LHR for sure. Mail has first priorty over any other cargo. They have contracts with other airlines on different routes.

No bluebird to Cork anymore, that's gone a few years. DHL flights to EMA from SNN and DUB both take mail too

Bluebird used bring fish into Cork, the smell was woeful!

Every flight these days has mail and other cargo on it, especially transatlantic flights. Too much money to be made not to and it often subsidises the seats, which is why seat costs can be made cheaper.

Mail / post and cargo are quite different. Mail is a highly sought after contract in the industry as it is light, usually doesn't take up too much space and the airline can get a good yield from carrying it.

As mentioned EI are used for mail along with SAS,Also the majority of cargo/mail is flown around the world in the belly of pax aircraft.
