Hi I wonder if the following is possible

We have a TV in the sitting room with sky. We're putting another TV in the kitchen with saorview built in. We want to put sky onto it and be able to use sky eye on it. Is this possible?

Hi, I just got sky myself. I think the eye lets you watch same programme in another room, namely for you the kitchen, but not different channels at the SJE time. Plus my sky engineer said that the new sky boxes don't accept the eye , although you can source adapters to receive as sky want you to buy multi room.

My question though if I may jump onboard is what if I buy tv for kitchen with soar view and fta tuners built in, can we hook it up to our new sky dish outside ?
    Thanks

It will work the same as it always did, provided the TV can handle analogue signals (most still can), & the Sky box either has RF-outs or a device connected to replicate this (IO-link or other modulator).

Yes provided you have a spare output on the LNB at the dish, an aerial will be required for Saorview.

Make sure the tv you purchase from the kitchen has an analog tuner also in it as well as a saorview tuner and you will be fine. Tv's sold in Argos such as the Bush and alba range do not and therefore need more equipment in order to add the sky to it...so in the long run it would cost more.

He was right but he was an installer, not an engineer. Sky don't use engineers for this.

Need some advice with this. I have sky multi room with 2 boxes (sitting room and master bed). I would like to split the multi room box between master bed and kitchen with magic eyes. The only prob is that the box does not have rf out ports. I have TV points in all 3 rooms (2 in sitting room) all running to attic (where the sky guy connected them to the dish) so no prob with coax cable. But how can I split the multi room box without rf2 out port? Any link to a piece of kit would be appreciated.

Also, my new TV in kitchen is a Bush from Argos. From what I've read above, I'll need something for that 2 right?

If it doesn't have an analogue tuner, this will convert the RF feed to scart - http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/Triax_Unilink.htm

Dear Stevon, what about this re tuners please ?
    http://www.powercity.ie/?action=TV%2C+DVD%2C+Camera%2C+Laptop%2CiPad&grpsel=10&action=eoldeals

Hope pasted site correct, but basically it's in powercity and has following in product description...
    With Built In Dvd Player
    Saorview & Fta Satellite Tuners
    50hz 1080p Hd Picture
    Live Pause And Record Ready
    Hdmi Digital

Does this mean I can just connect sky dish straight to tv or do I need anything else ? Thank you

If it has a sat tuner then yes you run a cable directly from the dish to the TV for the free sat channels such as BBC etc.
You will need to run a second cable from a terrestrial aerial for the saorview channels.

Thank you so much for reply, I am going to buy one of those indoor antenna for it too from powercity, thanks

Don't buy an indoor antenna, unless you're in a very strong signal area and even then, it's Always best to be connected to a properly set up outdoor aerial.
