Hi all, sorry if this is something that has been covered but I couldn't find anything on it.

Basically I just bought a 01 Almera and when I start it, it feels like there is barely enough power and like it is not going to start....even though it does but it makes a grinding noise when it does.

Any ideas before I go messing with it?

Yeah I was thinking that mate, seems to be worse if I have the lights on so I'm wondering if it's the battery or the timing chain. If I brought it to a local garage would they be handy enough to tell me exactly what it is before I go starting to replace bits?

Your local garage should be able to diagnose no problem. I wonder if is a fan belt slipping as you say it's worse with lights on.

Thanks mate, I'm hoping it's not the timing chain and if it is I'm hoping it's covered under engine warranty!
